Diamond Rio built a successful career by playing a unique hybrid of modern country, old-time traditional bluegrass, and a touch of rock ‘n’ roll. Since forming in Nashville in 1989, the band has set themselves apart from the crowded country music scene in several ways. They were the first country group in history to reach Number 1 with a debut single. They are one of a select few groups who play every note on every song they’ve released, refusing to use any outside studio musicians. Diamond Rio’s most recent release, “I Made It,” is their tenth studio album. The title track was co-written by the band’s lead guitarist Jimmy Olander and features 11 new songs. The rest of the band features seasoned musicians Gene Johnson (mandolin, vocals), Brian Prout (drums), Marty Roe (lead vocals), Dan Truman (keyboards) and Dana Williams (bass, vocals).
